Body Whispering micro post #2

When we, as Health Care Providers, are in the process of giving a diagnosis, we need to understand that if we only focus on what is happening in the body now, we tend to get some info, but we might be oblivious to the whole picture.

The symptoms will only tell us about what is wrong. And maybe not even that.

But we need to understand the why. And the why usually starts in the past and is not something you can find during the initial examination, but rather something that unravels itself if we get to really know the person we are treating.

We need to slow down and listen.

We need to pay attention to the individual’s story.

To get to know the person, their needs, their wishes, their fears, their beliefs and their truths, their environment.

Because as Caroline Myss says “our biography becomes our biology”.
